Void Energy Management Scheme
 
Anglia Energy Services Scheme (AES) is an award winning energy service, which operates throughout the UK. It has been designed to help Registered Social Landlords (RSL’s) deal with energy issues in its properties.

The scheme benefits RSL’s in three key areas.

• Affordable warmth for tenants, as we are all aware energy prices are steadily increasing. This in particular hits families on fixed incomes hardest, by helping tenants have access to a lower cost supplier we can help reduce their energy bills and lessen the risks of them falling into fuel poverty. In addition Energy Efficiency advice is also provided to all tenants.
• Reduces staff time dealing with energy issues in void properties. This is a growing problem with the number of different suppliers and agencies involved. AES works by introducing a computerised void energy management system where every supply is transferred to a known supplier. Once this transfer has happened it is far easier to deal with energy issues relating to the property via the one contact point. The supplier for the scheme was chosen under an open best value tender process and is reviewed annually.
• The scheme generates an income by transferring the fuel supply. This income less the scheme running costs is made available to the RSL to spend on service improvements to benefit its tenants.
